ThemeSmith: Simplest Way to Embed Multimedia Contents into WordPress Blog

For most of us will find that it is pretty hard to embed multimedia contents into our WordPress blogs. What I meant by multimedia contents are videos, mp3s and images. It may be due to the lack of knowledge and its complexity in beginner’s point of view.

For example, videos; Usually we will have to upload to other video sharing websites such as YouTube and Vimeoh and then use their video sharing features in our WordPress blog. Although it can save us from pushing our hosting bandwidth to its corner, it will be at the expense of our WordPress blog’s branding and appearance.

Want to get serious in blogging? Be professional!

Personally, I prefer WordPress blog that host their own videos rather use the videos that they took for YouTube for example. 1. This is a great plugin. I agree that it looks more “professional,” but you do have the tradeoff of losing the traffic that comes from YouTube. It can be significant.

I do agree with you. I think the best way is we have to balance up between YouTube videos and video that we host by ourselves.

It can be based on target audience and suitability with our blog post.

    What do you think?

Wow. I should try this! I’m using different plugins for each video and audio. Never knew there’s an all in one plugin for that.

    Thanks for sharing!

You should use it. It will make the integration process to be ridiculously easy.

I have used it and I totally love it!

Have you tried using tubemogul to upload your videos to all of the sites at once? I use this to get as much exposure as possible when uploading videos. It is also a HUGE timesaver if you are uploading to multiple sites already. Not a wordpress tip but I thought I’d share. Sorry if it’s too off topic.

Another option if you do not want to max out your band width but still want to look professional is to use
They allow you to brand your player and wont downgrade your video as well. I use it on my contracting site since youtube would not look professional for it.

Can’t seem to really grasp the usability. Guess I’m more than comfortable already with the traditional method

THis is super awesome. Saves you time and may increase your blog speed.

  10. Mike says:

Don’t you have to have a massive hosting plan to upload videos to your server? I have a video podcast and uploading one video per week will destroy my bandwidth I think

  11. ariff says:

I guess you should just stay with Youtube, or maybe Vimeo.

  12. Mike says:

I use blip tv as it sends my videos to itunes as a video podcast automatically and allows me to brand the player on my site. If you look on my brothers percussion blog you can the that in the bottom right hand corner it says percussion instruction.
It used to say blip tv but they allow you to change it.

  13. Kushal Chap says:

Curious how much do you have to pay for blip tv

  14. Mike says:

blip tv is free. There is a premium service you can pay for but I don’t think its necessary.

  15. ariff says:

I see. blip tv seems good too

  16. Excellent efforts to emphasize these points,Thanks for sharing….
