SimpleCart(js)- Simple Yet Attractive (Plus Free) Online Store WordPress Theme

Online store wordpress themeSince I start to get to know with WordPress and fall in love with the massive collections of its themes – either free of premium, I do realised that it can be pretty hard to look for a good looking online store WordPress theme with online payment system integration regardless whether it is premium or free WordPress theme.

Such situation happens because the process is probably happens due to the fact that it can be pretty tough to integrate in the WP e-Commerce plugin with the WordPress theme.

The other possible cause is the fact the developers has to radically convert the nature of the site which is blog into online store especially the structure of the site itself.

Without having proper structure – in terms of user friendliness for visitors and also us- the admin.

However, Chris Wallace has developed and designed an Online Store WordPress Theme which is called SimpleCart(js). This theme is the child theme of  Themetic theme – a WordPress theme framework.

This is what Chris claimed about the simple yet attractive online store WordPress them:

SimpleCart(js) is a simple, attractive, and flexible WordPress theme that taps into the power of both Thematic and WP E-commerce. Features include AJAX cart functionality, a grid layout for products, and a flexible color scheme, easy to swap out images and completely customize the theme to your needs.

Actually, this theme was designed and developed for a contest by Instinct, the company behind WP E-commerce which would like to see who could reproduce simpleCart(js) built by the Wojo Group using a combination of WP E-commerce and Thematic for WordPress.

After Chris took a crack at $240, a dig into WP E-commerce’s new template system and designed this theme, he submitted this theme. The best part is he in fact won the contest and decided to release the theme 100% free of charge.

One important note for this version, there is no link from the products on the homepage to the product info page, future versions will include one. Also, it should be easy to add in there if you know what you’re doing.

So, I would like to recommend to those who have deep knowledge in tweaking WordPress them, feel free to hit the download button that I give below. Unfortunately, for those who not have such knowledge, I will only recommend this theme for those who would like to use it for simple stuffs which does not need much descriptions or you have to wait for Chris to lauch the new version in future.

If you would like to give quick look on the SimpleCart(js) theme, hit the demo button below.

Having a free theme with a very attractive shopping cart is amazing. To have something like this will either cost you a lot or will take many hours to build. I am very grateful to these developers. I am going to look into this for my bands blog as we have shirts and cds to sell.
