Create Own Subscription Area Without Widget In Thesis Theme.

aF2fXrmoNkci2gphBho7InYqo1_500It is pretty tough to tweak something manually in Thesis theme manually as the way which Thesis is been developed is totally the opposite as compared to other premium themes.

To cut the chase, I will help you to create your very own blog subscription area in Thesis sidebar section- which is far more attractive as compared to the out of the box subscription widget ( I really hate the design, though. How about you? Leave your say in the comment section, ok?)

thesis theme subsriptions

First of all, let me you explain on the components of the new subscription area to help you to understand afterward tutorial later. The area can be separated into 3 components- the title, the feed subscription button and email subscription button.

In order to put your own subscription area in the sidebar section, you just need to paste below code into the custon_fuction.php.

function sidebar_subscription(){ ?>

<br><p style=”text-align: center;”><img class=”size-full wp-image-118 aligncenter” title=”Subscription” src=” (image url)

alt=”Subscription” width=”290″ height=”45″ /></p><br/><center><br>

<table border=”0″ cellpadding=”2″><tbody></tbody></table><table class=”border=&quot;0&quot;” border=”0″ cellspacing=”4″

cellpadding=”5″ align=”center”><tbody><tr valign=”middle”><td><a href=” (feed url)“><img class=”alignnone size-full wp-image-115″ style=”vertical-align: middle;” title=”Subscribe to Huzzer Magazine” src=” (image url)” alt=”Subscribe to Huzzer Magazine” width=”67″ height=”67″ /></a></td><td><strong><a href=” (feed url)“><span style=”font-size: small;”>Subscribe through RSS feed</span></a></strong></td></tr>

<tr valign=”middle”><td><a href=”;amp;loc=en_US (email subscription url)“><img class=”alignnone size-full wp-image-117″ style=”vertical-align: middle;” title=”Subscribe through email subscription” src=” (image url)” alt=”Subscribe through email subscription” width=”78″ height=”82″ /></td><td style=”text-align: left; “><strong><a href=”;amp;loc=en_US (email subscription url)“><span style=”font-size: small;”>Subscribe through email</span></a> </strong></td></tr></tbody></table><br/><br/></center><?php }

add_action(‘thesis_hook_after_multimedia_box’, ‘sidebar_subscription’);

The only thing that you want to change on the above code is the url of code which I have underlined.

For those who does not how to create such image, for the subscription title or the icons you can search for the image or the internet or you can just use Microsoft Words, print screened, such as the ‘Subsription’ word that you have typed and paste it into any image editor to crop unnecessary space and image. Then, upload it into your hosting site. From there, you will able to get the url for your image.

After you have pasted the above code into the custom_function.php file, save and hit the refresh button  in your internet browser, you will able to find the new subsription area in your Thesis-themed blog.

I do admit that this tutorial is not a programming masterpiece – it is just basic coding which have a lot of space for improvement. Even, if you have very little programming experience, I so believe the tutorial can be brought few steps forward.

If you have anything you want to add or tweak on the above code, feel free to do so and I really appreciate it if you can share with me and others who want to learn further in tweaking and improve the Thesis themed WordPress blog.
